1st grade Tie Dye

This project was perfect for a windy day. I usually work with groups of 8 outside the classroom for 25-30 minutes at a time. Since the paper was cut into 6x6 inch squares, the process seemed fast and kept the kids focused despite the wind. The kids did a great job coloring solid color and these will look nice facing out the classroom window!

Recycled Bottle Chandelier- 4th grade

I had SO much fun with the 4th grade class on our 2nd 45-minute Chandelier building Session. I had 4 kids hole-punching and looping bottle cuts with paper clip wire, 2 kids assembling the wired bottle pieces on the chandelier armature made out of chicken wire, and the rest of the kiddos colored the bottle pieces with colored sharpies. Each kiddo had a personal goal of coloring 5 pieces. We colored and assembled over 100 pieces today and the chandelier is ready to be sold off at the auction. GREAT Job Room 25!

Positive Negative Hearts-4th Grade

I love integrating math concepts with art. With this project I snuck in concepts of positive/negative space, symmetry, and reflections. Check out these beauties. LOTS of kids decided to take these home!
